DEAR ALL,
MY BOYS ARE FEELING LOST SINCE SCHOOL BEGAN. ALL THEIR FRIENDS ARE IN SCHOOL AND THEY ARE AT HOME. THEY WANNA GO BACK TO SCHOOL ONLY TO BE WITH THEIR FRIENDS. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT MISSING STUDIES, THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T MISS THAT. SO IT LOOKS LIKE OUR EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS HAVE NOW BECOME SOCIAL CENTRES. FRIENDSHIPS AND FUN IS THE MANTRA OF THE DAY. EDUCATION MEANS NOTHING TO TODAY'S CHILDREN. ARE WE DOING SOMETHING WRONG? WHY HASTHE SYSTEM FAILED? I HOPE THE INITIAL WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS MY BOYS ARE FACING VANISH ONCE THEY GET RIGHT INTO TEH HELM OF HOMESCHOOLING. WITH NO TV TO ENTERTAIN THEM (YES, I DISCONNECTED CABLE) AND THE DVD PLAYER UNREPAIRED, THEY HAVE BEEN PLAYING SOLITAIRE AND SCRABBLE WHEN THEY AREN'T PLAYING RED INDIANS. AARON READ A STORY TO CHARIS-ANN LAST NIGHT AND THAT WAS HEART-WARMING TO SEE. MAYBE I SHOULD START READING ALOUD TO THEM EVERYDAY. YESTERDAY AARON ASKED IF HE COULD USE THE COMPUTER TO DRAW ON "PAINT" AND I ALLOWED HIM. THAT KEPT THEM INTERESTED. TODAY IT IS NATHAN'S TURN.
